Celebrated the new year with one of our favorite rituals...an excursion to Tomales Bay to eat oysters & paint. It was beautiful, but quite cold this year, so after our oyster feast we found an indoor spot to paint (at Gourmet Au Bay in Bodega Bay).

My most favorite part of this wonderful winter holiday from school was that I had the opportunity to go out painting with some of my very favorite people in the world!

Tomales Bay

My wife and I have a lovely Black Friday tradition: instead of spending the day in the soul-killing atmosphere of a shopping mall, we head to Tomales Bay to enjoy the amazing oysters at Marshall General Store. This year was extra special since Lola was with us and our good friends Kathleen and Minema met us there. Lola and I painted the sparkling bay while we waited for our oysters to arrive. After eating, we all headed to Millerton Point for a stroll. A beautiful day!

More painting with Lola

On June 21st, the day after Lola's birthday, we drove down to Tomales Bay. We ate delicious grilled oysters at the Marshall General Store, and then drove further south to one of my favorite painting spots on the bay. Lola painted in watercolor; I painted in acrylic. It was a gorgeous day!
